Proposed House bill would require gun owners to have liability insurance

Quote:
House Democrat Rep. Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.) has introduced a bill that would require gun owners to carry liability insurance.

The Firearm Risk Protection Act, unveiled Friday, would require gun buyers to have liability insurance coverage before being allowed to purchase a weapon, and would impose a fine of $10,000 if an owner is found not to have it. Service members and law enforcement officers, however, would be exempt from the requirement.......

I guess politicians have access to much better drugs than the average Joe can get. That's the only way to make sense out of some of this stuff.

I wonder if home owners ins would be involved in this or if it would be a
whole different policy.

My guess is it would have to be a separate policy to cover the owner in their house or anywhere else. The up side is I don't believe this will go anywhere.

Don't think this will fly unless the poor get exemptions. May be a way to get guns out of the hands of lots of folks.

It'd be nice if they worked as hard on solving real issues like Social Security or our debt as they do trying to pass this pap.
