Wow! You all just gotta' try this. This January I had visitors down from the frozen north, and we decided to take the King Ranch tour. I have to tell you, it was one of the most interesting days I have experienced in a decade. They offer many "themed" tours, and we took the short ranch tour at noon, then the "wildlife tour" later that day. The hour long bus tour was interesting, but then the wildlife tour simply AMAZING! Started out our guide, Miguel Martin, was one of the most interesting persons I have ever met, with a crazy life story. Like me a Minnesota native, he graduated college top of his class, doctorate degree speaking 7 languages, star football quarterback. Then drafted by the Minnesota Vikings as back-up quarterback to Fran Tarkington. Joined the Peace Corps sent to central America, where he was appointed U.S. ambassador by the President!!! Later coming back to become a Professor teaching at a college. And did this all with a physical disability. He is now the wildlife tour guide at King Ranch, and GREAT at what he does. On the 4 hour tour we seen so many creatures, you simply couldn't keep track. It was amazing, and the stories from Miguel kept us on edge. Rough numbers Whitetails 90+, hogs & javalinas 50+, alligators 12, 2 bobcat, 10 coyotes, 75 turkeys, uncountable waterfowl, exotic birds, and of course the sweet looking cattle. You all gotta, try this. We went in January, I'm sure time of year changes. I WILL BE doing it again.
Dryberry was the last lake God created and it took the entire seventh day. Dryberry Lake Sioux Narrows, Ontario, Canada (a.k.a. Heaven)

Those sand dunes are neat too. Lots of game in that oak motte country. Drove through there going to Port Mansfield a few years ago. The number of nice bucks we saw was incredible.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Sounds great. I am more interested in the historical aspect. Living history. From 1853 to 2015 a lot has changed on the ranch Most people don't know that the ranch is not one contiguous place it's broken up into several pastures that are quite a distance from each other
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
