So apparently I have become the new bow every year guy. Sorry but I have gotten addicted to bow hunting. On that note I decided this year to build my own arrows. I did research and the first batch came out great. Well I was at Cabelas and they had the 10% military discount so since I had most of the stuff to build another dozen so I went ahead and picked up another dozen FMJ's. They cut them and put in the inserts just like last time.

I got home and put my custom wraps on them and when I went to insert broad heads two of the inserts are in wrong and the broad heads won't seat all the way. Rather expensive arrows so is there anyway to get the glued in inserts out? I can't cut them down and reinstall because then my arrows won't match up. It is pretty obvious they are not seated all the way. Will it hurt anything if I cut threads on the broad heads down. I have about a 1/4" gap that I need to eliminate but don't want my broad head to come off in the animal. Maybe just target broad heads. Open to ideas.

I would take them back to Cabelas, I am sure they would exchange the bad arrows.

I am sure they would and it isn't an issue with Cabelas it happens, just would lose my wraps and the pain of driving over there to deal with it. Was hoping someone may have a home remedy.

Heat?

The problem with heat on carbon shafts that use hidden inserts is you will most likely over heat the carbon part of the arrows too much before the epoxy turns loose of the insert.

Unfortunately with carbon you really just have to start over. One of the things I miss about aluminium.

You can drop a 1/16 inch drill bit in the shaft or use a metal rod like a slide hammer. A minute or two of tapping will break the glue loose.

Never thought of that. I'll have to remember it.

Henry bass he's with goldtips customer service and the bee stingers. He ran that by me on getting some bent inserts out of my kinetic 200s. It works lol.

Depends on what glue was used. The superglue this can work on, epoxy not so much
