yep, they were just starting to crack the dirt, we got rain @ the wrong time, going to fix that next yr, higher beds & frame to cover in case to much. also, the dirt is a little to heavy, so going to mix in pecan hulls.

Try hay, my grandfather grew a lot that way, layers of hay and water just runs out. May just use some to lighten the soil IDK
