Back in December 2000, I killed the biggest (and probably last) deer of my life as a guest on a lease near Cotulla. This was one of those deals where there was someone to cook for us, takes us to our stands, and also clean our deer. The 8-point I killed was large, and one of the guys on the ranch simply cut the top of the deer's skull off around the antlers before asking me if I might want to do something different with the head.
That set of antlers is still in my garage, and I'd like to do something with them so that I can hang them on the fireplace at home. Does anyone have any suggestions, or am I SOL on this?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you are wanting to mount on a shoulder mount, any taxi can get you a new cape. There are euro skull mount kits you can re-mount the antlers to so they will look like an euro mount.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Yep you can still mount it. You just have to get another cape, which your taxidermist can help with.

All the above is correct....you have three options: 1. Have an antler mount on a plaque where taxidermist cover the skull plate 2. Have the taxidermist do a European Mount using a kit with a skull plate slot or even a real skull (he'd have to cut your antlers off the skull plate to do the later) 3. have the taxidermist get you a cape (you pay extra for that) and have him do a shoulder mount.
My only advice is to do your research and get references on taxidermists before you select one....and low price is usually not a good option. Go look at their work.

If its what you say it is and you want to keep the memories fresh in your mind you need to get a cape and get it mounted. I can look at all my deer on the wall and each one has its own special memory that is unforgettable. When you kill a deer it leaves a permanent impression on your brain that is easily remembered when you look at it in the wall. Makes for some good memories and conversation. I have a texas capes if you need one.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.
