Hey folks I just wanted to share an observation with everyone that have been thinking about hunting an Axis this summer. While leaving yesterday headed back to the swamp from an Easter vist in San Angelo I took a drive thru some of my favorite back roads in the hill country and I believe it's going to be a hell of a year for Axis bucks. I found numerous really good bucks and several jaw droppers with one being exceptional. My wife had taken so many shots of the beautiful hill country flowers that my memorie card was full on my camera so all I could do was watch them thru my field glasses. My point is if you have a favorite place to hunt Axis that this should be a great year to kill that trophy of a lifetime. The downside is that although Mother Nature blessed a lot of the hill country with much needed moisture the deer aren't going to have to move too far get a full belly. The deer I saw yesterday were fat, fatter and fattest. Good Luck folks, baker
