Hey guys, figured I'd leave some feedback here in case anyone saw David's (the owner) ad on craigslist or his website.

I contacted David through his craigslist ad and reserved a hunt for 1/23-1/25. There were four of us attending, at $200 each. This included two cabins at his deer camp. The camp was great, no problems there. Twin bunks in each cabin, electricity, a shower with warm water, a covered area with a fire pit and picnice table, running water, and a real deal, no bullsh** toilet to crap in. My buds and I thought it was great.

He had enough feeders for us (I believe he has 6 or 7 in all, can't remember exactly) and the property was set up well. ATV trails got you from stand to stand, and we ended up renting his Honda ATV for the weekend for an additional $50.

David was a nice guy, and met us at camp Friday around 2:30pm when we arrived. He gave us a quick lay of the land, took the second half of our money owed (we paid a 50% deposit to reserve the weekend), shot the [censored] with us for a few minutes, and headed home once we confirmed we were good to go.

I only saw one pig the entire weekend, and unfortunately couldn't kill it. One of our guys heard pigs both nights while he was sitting in his stands, but never saw them. One evening, while in the stands from 430-830p, we never heard the feeders go off, so not sure if they were timed to go off before 430, or if they were non-operational.

After we got home, I sent David an email recap of the weekend: what we saw, how long we hunted, when we hunted, the potential issue with the feeders, and a couple of suggestions on how to make the property a little more navigation friendly by having a map of the active stands and feeders (one of my friends sat at a stand one night that later he discovered didn't even have a feeder or food source that it overlooked).

I never heard back from him, so I don't know if he forgot to reply, or if I somehow upset him, but that was the last of my communication with him.

I know you can't guarantee success on a hunt, but based on him talking about how the hunters two weeks earlier had shot three pigs, and another group before them having been successful, I was a little let down with the lack of action. But again, I don't necessarily hold this against David.

That being said, for the price, this was a great property with good facilities for a group of guys looking to get outdoors, hunt, and enjoy some beers by the fire.

I suggest contacting him again. Some outfitters will let you go on a second hunt, at no charge, if there was an issue with the first one. The best advertising is a satisfied customer.
