I recently talked to a guy who said I could hunt three "sewage ponds" that are "loaded with ducks" next season . The water is pumped into the first pond that then runs off into the second then into the third. He irrigates costal from the third.

I assume the water is treated somewhat before it's pumped into the first pond.

Would you have an issue eating ducks taken off it?

Has anyone hunted a place like this?

If you eat Tilapia you should be immune

It's the same ducks you would kill off a neighboring tank

Yes we use to own a feed lot. Only open water for miles. Where I cut my teeth for ducks. Eaten hundreds of them

That is kind of my thought as well. Who is to say that any duck we harvest didn't at some point make pit stop at place like that.

Just hope it doesn't stink bad and the dog doesn't mind. LOL

Treated water, ie from a sewage plant is supposedly cleaner than drinking water. But as mentioned, who knows where the ducks you eat have been

I know a couple treatment plants that discharge water that's healthier and cleaner than the bodies of water it's discharged into.

I hunted sewage ponds in Arkansas...it's was crazy! Tons of birds and "debris". I'd hunt it again if I had the opportunity! Do it...

Ducks will not be that healthy if the water is bad I would think. They spend a lot of time in water few of us would swim in or drink without harm. Settling ponds which I suspect these are should not have that big a bacteria population compared to untreated sewage. I would hunt them and eat them.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.
