I know some people post land on here but Google searching for hunting leases just shows a lot of paid websites. Any comments from y'all on what the best one would be to pay for to try to find a good deer lease in the DFW area?

leasehunters.com has been the best one but you have to stay on top of it - when something comes up you better contact ASAP -

You can try DEER TEXAS, probably the oldest on-line lease listing website, been operating since 1998! http://deertexas.com/texas-hunting-leases/Still a little early for leases but the list grows daily!

Agree with JDickey on Deer Texas.com. We have both been contributors over the years for Scott's site. Although most of my leases come through networking, he tends to have a fairly good listing. And as here on THF, you can get reliable info from forum members. There really is a process these days to find the right one for your needs. Have been thinking about publishing a book on all aspects of finding a lease. So many variables involved, legal, negotiations, age of owner and intent of beneficiaries. Not to mention the property, prior hunters, geography, amenities, etc...still the best solution is networking with folks who know the area and owner. Not as hard as you think.

Thanks for your input, guys. I really appreciate it. I'll give Deer Texas and Leasehunters a try. I'm also trying to make some contacts and reach out to local folks. I'd rather go that route since you get to know people and land a bit better that way. But, for a newbie looking for a lease, I'm just trying to get a feel for what's out there. I really do appreciate the help!
