Here's a pic of my last grouse of 2014 in NY. It was a team effort.
Snowed a lot since then and my long legged snow setter ripped a nail off his front paw shortly after this pic was taken, so 2015 isn't looking good for going grouse hunting now.
The brits are both 11 and would hunt till they die, but I love them too much.

I have hunted grouse in ny. I lived in Galway (~25 miles west of Saratoga springs). I hunted a public area west of Albany. In the snow too! It was a neat place to hunt...low stone walls running through the woods and a few unmarked grave sites to creep you out right before Bonasa flushed and scared the crap out of you.
