Gonna have my 223 rebarreled. I can go to the 223AI, but wonder if it's really worth the change. I have mucho 223 ammo loaded for the std 223, but suppose it'll fireform in the AI chamber without any problems.
I would appreciate feedback and opinions on this.
If I need hot loads, I have the 220 Swift, so a little more MV in the 223 isn't that big a need. Give me a push in one direction or the other.

I had the same question many years ago when Harold Broughton rebarreled my 223. Not enough gain on that case to be worth while. I kept the gun 223 and couldn't be happier. Whacked a yote with it yesterday morning.

I'm with Revoman, 603. Just don't see the gain for the pain. Maybe if it was one of those rounds you fire 10, 20, maybe 40 times per year, but not .223 Rem.

Just after I asked the question of you guys, I realized that I'd need a new set of dies if I went AI. Heck, I'll just stay with the standard round.
Revo, you got the same light setup on your rifle as I do. Wife makes fun of it, but it stays on. It's quite useful at times.

I think I'll stay with the 1 in 9 twist. I don't have a need or desire to hunt with the heavier bullets. Mostly what I have been shooting lately is the 40 gr Nosler BT, which is a true death ray on coyotes. I do also load the 64 gr Nosler Bonded Solid Base, and the POI is almost exactly the same as the 40 grainer, though maybe 1/2 higher (which is fine) at 100 yards. A new barrel may cause me to lose that POI similarity, but we'll see.
