I have been reading about beepers, particularly the Garmin with the hawk screamer. On various forums some people say they use them and others say they wouldnt use something like that near the dog's ear.
My question is is there any evidence out there that this really hurts or bothers the dog? Asking about the hawk but how about the beep itself?
Thanks

Nope sure wouldn't use something that loud constantly that's for sure. I would think the beep it self is all you need and maybe the hawk sparingly

I think the hawk screams only when they are on point.

There are hawk screamers that the hunter carries and blows when the birds are running ahead of the dog

I have dogtra and it screams only when you hit a certain button. You can have it in beep in point only mode or run and point

I run two dogs at a time so I need different sounds when they go on point. I have one dog with a beep and the other with the hawk. I thought they were too loud so I put electrical tape around both beepers to dampen it.
