I like the pebble finish, that has a business-like look about it.
Kind regards, charlesb

I used some stone texture rattle cans by Rustoleum. I bought it on a clearance rack at Ace hardware.

Do you prep the stock in any way? Do you apply a varnish to seal it in?
I've got a new Creedmoor Savage that needs some dressing up.

I've got a new Creedmoor Savage that needs some dressing up. I have done a couple of "webbed" stocks, it's pretty easy. The fleckstone should work the same. Start by sanding the stock with some medium grit paper. This is a good chance to knock off the "ridge seams" on the spine. After sanding wipe down with acetone, MEK, or even rubbing alcohol to get rid of oils. If they have the fleckstone in the "adheres to plastic" version get that. I usually do 4 or 5 coats of the paint. When it looks like you want it to spray with 5n or 6 coats of matte clear (available at Lowes or Home Depot) It is actually a very durable finish

I am assuming since you have picked your stock you are wanting barrels action colors correct?

You want to apply thin coats. Its better to spray 5 thin coats than 2 heavy coats. Thick coats never dry right, and are prone to chipping and delaminating.
