I think this thread has been done before. We just got ourselves a high quality AR, Daniel Defense upper with Seekin lower, in 556. I'm looking for opinions and experiences ya'll have had with all the cheap (meaning about $0.40 or cheaper), bulk ammo. I want to stick to brass, but after that I'm really not that picky. Besides, what's the point of a nicer AR if you can't just shoot eveyrthing through it. I'm much less concerned about "accuracy" to a certain extent. I have very accurate bolt guns. I'm looking for comments more on reliability, how dirty it makes/fouling, quality, amounts of mis/no-fires, etc. Also, I'm very interested on those who regularly use 62 bulk ammo. Here are some links of what I'm considering. http://www.ammunitiondepot.com/PMC-5-56-M855-X-TAC-62-Grain-SS109-Green-Tip-556K-p/556k.htmhttp://www.venturamunitions.com/ventura-tactical-bravo-level-5-56-62gr-ss109-ammo-250-rounds/
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I have the same question, only I'm shooting 7.62x39 thru a Mini Thirty. I'm not worried about steel casings, so what is the best of the cheapo! My first purchase was 60 rounds of Herters 123 gr HP. I had abou 10 of these that failed to fire on the first try. Bought 50 rounds of brass cased Hornady SSTs. All fired just fine. So, what about Tul? Or, any of the others? Any better than the others. I like the $5 price for plinking.... Just hate having so many FTFs.
So she says "sure Honey, I agree, you DO need a new deer rifle..." And that, boys, is how I ended up with new living room furniture!
