It's been wide spread on here that Tikka factory stocks are garbage and an affordable yet quality aftermarket option is the Bell & Carlson medalist. Until now that was only an option for standard contour T3 Lite/ Hunter series. I recently saw in an email from Redhawk rifles that the now have a heavy barrel contour varmint style stock that will be available 1/1/15. I went ahead and preordered one at a sale price of $229 to put on my CTR (first series). While not a manners or McMillan, hard to beat at that price for anyone wanting to upgrade their heavy barrel tikka rifles.

Looks like a nice stock. I believe they have 14" LOP which is longer than most people are used to

I saw that email also. Are you gonna be able to use the DBM that comes on the CTR without new inletting?

The CTR is on my wish list, and from reports I've read over at Snipershide they are dandy little rifles. If this B&C will fit with the factory DBM, it makes the CTR that much more appealing...

I love the change a B&C stock gave to the feel of my T3 lite. My CTR (first series without bottom metal) shoots bug hole groups, my only complaint is the Mickey Mouse plastic stock. I personally don't have funds or a true need to justify a $600+ custom stock, but $229 is a pretty manageable and worth while upgrade.

Well it shipped earlier than advertised. Got it mounted today, excellent fit and finish, dropped in and bolted together with good barrel clearance. Dressed up the Tikka CTR .308.

Looks like a much better stock than the factory one.

Barrel still free floated with the rifle resting on the bipod?

Oh yea. Much better feel, more solid and a better vertical grip with palm swell than the factory original. Completely free floated with bipod support. Though I haven't shot it yet with the new stock, I think it will be a winner.

Absolutely. It's a fantastic shooting rifle. Now I just need someone to explain how to dial the elevation and windage adjustments and utilize the Mil dot reticle and MOA turrets...

I have the B&C on both of my T3's. Changes it into a different rifle, better float, bed and zero stock flex when a bipod is installed.

The palm swell is perfect IMO.

Good looking rifle. cheers

Head north the Wolfe City on a day you want to schedule and I will clear up everything. Get you to about a half mile.

$300 for a day. One on one. We start around 8 or 8:30 and go until you're tired of shooting or it gets dark. Everybody has cried uncle before I did or before it got dark. Its been looking like once a guy comes through the course they have my ear forever. I get PMs, texts and phone calls from them. And I'm still happy to help.
