$16 hard to beat, although I don't like the heavy anchor, I use a long mushroom decoy weight, works better...

I have made them for years. You just can't beat this deal. I will caution all to take just a moment if they buy this set up. There is a little shackle connecting the rig to the anchor. Take the shackle bolt out and douche the threads down with whatever thread locker you have on hand. That shackle bolt will make it's way back out and be gone forever. I bought two or three of these last year. I keep one in the blind at the lease and I saw one in the barn last night. I think I have one in the airboat but not sure. Be it I am coming out of hiding and headed to the coast Sunday, I might just go to Academy today and pick up anohter.

The price at academy is cheap enough, although I usually just make my own.
Nylon line, toggle balls from walmart as the bungie, a few fishing swivels, and some old piece of iron or something that's laying around for weight.

Lemme try and explain my DIY jerk cord! Get 3 deeks tied in line so they don't touch of course! Middle one tie off to the back hole so it changes directions on pull and return! Then put 36" stick in the mud or tie of to timber ! Use small black bungee to connect to stick or timber ! Front duck has large fishing swivel. Then get you a Zebco 33 paint black with some 15 lb line Hook to the swivel, and hit your button and walk back to your blind It can be 10' or 40 yards! No tangles and them you just walk out when you get your limit and real it back up Unhook your swivel and toss in its own bag!

I always made my own, then I hunted with Larrycopper, he had riggem right jerk string and I was amazed how much better it was than my DIY rig. The bungie cord is key, I think it is the same bungie cord you can get at camping store, it's the bungie cord used for those tent poles. Also the "line" itself is high quality, does not tangle and is thin, I have not seen where you can buy that type line.

picked up one of those game winner jerk cords from academy the other day. used it yesterday morning.. it works great but I feel like that bungee cord will eventually bust trying to get that anchor out of the mud.

It will. I tie a normal line to weight, so you can pull on that to get out of mud, then bungie to the normal line....

Also the "line" itself is high quality, does not tangle and is thin, I have not seen where you can buy that type line. Here is my jerk cord. You got the mushroom decoy weight, PVC decoy line, bungee cord (you can get this at a camping store, I got it at REI before), my cord is riggem right, but I'm sure you can get this somewhere, probably camping store as well. With mushroom weight packs away nice.. The weight they give you is overkill, too heavy, and I do not like having to mess with the bag you got to put it in, mainly having to keep it with you when you are using it hunting, it's an unnecessary thing in you blind bag or pocket taking up valuable space and will probably get lost. I tried a cord I got at academy once, and it got all twisted and tangled, it was the worse.. PVC line will work. And these swivel clips you need, the big ones are hard to find. You want bigger than the clips below..
