Just got back from New Mexico. I killed this buck on the 2nd day of the season. Shot him with my 7mm wsm.

Dang that's a great buck. Congratulations. Bet you were slightly excited trying to steady your shot. I got him with one shot at 509yds. I had to lay in one spot for about 2 hours waiting for him to get up and give me a shot. We spotted him at over 2000yds and put him to bed. We closed the distance as much as we could. He was about 500 feet higher than me on the side of a mountain. Packing him out was a booger. He was a big bodied deer and all that meat was heavy.

My buddies deer from the same trip. He killed this deer at 1046yds with my 7mm wsm. He had never shot long range before, but I knew he could shoot. I dialed the scope in for him and he hit and dropped the deer with the 3rd shot. We were shooting across a canyon and the wind was blowing over 20mph. I had him shoot at a rock a couple times to figure the wind out then he let fly at the deer. The wind blew his first 2 shots wide but he corrected and the 3rd shot hit the deer in the spine behind the shoulder and it was game over. The bullet was in the air for 1.38 seconds. I watched the bullet fly through my spotting scope and knew it was good before the bullet even made contact. It was pretty awesome.
