Hey all so we went out to the ranch last weekend and pulled some cards and it showed that pigs were coming to a feeder in one of our fields almost every night. We had used the field for dove hunting so there are some lanes cut in the sunflower out there. There is also some very tall grass surrounding the field except for the lanes cut. Anyways, the hogs seem to be switching from coming to the feeder to rooting around in the field. I was going to ask yall what the best approach was to killing some of these hogs. If I sat in the blind, most of the field would be blocked because of the tall grass. Should I walk through the lanes at night with a hog light or just sit in the blind and wait for the hogs to come to the feeder eventually? Just wanted some of yalls opinions on what would be the best way to approach the hogs! Thanks!

You could bait some of the open lanes in the field. Use a light to spot and stalk. Set in the blind watch feeder.
I don't believe there is a right or wrong answer.

Back in the day things have got so high-tech these days. & the hogs have been pressured so much. de hogs are smarter dan me. use the wind, scatter corn in area you'll have good safe shot. U know tarrain. lights off , if theirs a decent moon ya can see em in moon light, & scope will gather extra light. my posts are cheep. best wishes.

Add a pig toy to your setup in an open area near your feeder. That way the hogs will stop for an extended time in an open area for you, versus trying to make a shot on them as they pass through an open lane. (Plus the noise they make batting it around will wake you up from your snooze in the blind.)

I've hunted fields just like your describing quite a bit. Best bet would be to just watch the feeder. If you walk down the lanes you'll have to do it into the wind. Also keep in mind on foot the tall grass and sunflowers will block your few of the pigs. If you turn your light on and try to look thru your scope into the grass/sunflower you'll be blinded. Not to mention the pigs can and will slip into these areas very quickly to get away.
