Just curious especially during the time before sun up? I've thought about napping and setting my phone alarm, but I'm afraid my snoring with spook the deer or the alarm will. I don't have cell coverage at the lease so checking the forum is out. Tried reading books, end up with a bobbing head especially after waking up at 4-5am to get to the blind. Any suggestions? Not much into games on my phone, what works for y'all?

Get a good nights rest.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I just listen for the animals coming out before it gets light and after the sun comes up just listen to nature!!! In other words, I'm out there to relax so I take a nap until the sun comes up!!! There has been does staring at me on more than one occasion!!!

If I take a nap, I take a nap. Best nap is often in a deer stand or on ground sitting back against a tree. Often times I will wake up and the deer or turkey are in front of me. If I miss seeing a deer while sleeping oh well I got a great nap.

I take one of the grandkids, I let them watch while I nap.

I have fallen asleep in the blind on weekend openers, ended up waking just in time to get out of the blind for the morning hunt. It's gotta be the peacefulness of nature. Hook n line, easier said than done, have four daughters ranging from 6 mos. to 6 yrs old. Colt coffee would work except it gets my bowels working.

I've nodded off a few times around 10 a.m. when I figure if anything was going to happen it would have. If I feel like sleeping I tie myself tight to the tree and the rifle as well. Don't want to fall off the stand! Thing is.......if you are in bush country you really ought to be constantly glassing the area- you will often make out a deer at the limit of what you can see.

Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Ever been in the stand and let your mind wonder, then all sudden you think "man it's dark, sun up is slow", then realize you had your eyes closed. Did that Saturday and I had a great nights sleep before hand, don't know what my brain was thinking LOL

I just take in the peace and quiet, and meditate on all sorts of thoughts...Being up in the blind or tripod just takes the stress away...so I just relax until I can see stuff moving...then I get my eagle on eye, and start glassing.

If I'm not taking photos, I contemplate the meaning of the universe and how it relates to the fuzz in my belly button.

I guess I'll be sleeping. Enjoy the peacefulness of the blind, so I guess I'm giving in. I never really contemplated the meaning of life and how it correlates with fuzz in the belly button, guess I'll give that a shot! Love waiting and watching the deer come in, sometimes just can't keep myself up.
